Students from Connetquot High School’s Personal Financial Literacy classes recently paid the fourth-grade classes at Slocum Elementary School a visit in an effort to share helpful tips and tricks on how to manage their finances in a proper manner.

The fourth-graders learned to distinguish items as both wants versus needs, ways to properly save their allowances and methods on how to not become an impulsive buyer. The Connetquot High School students also read the book “Alexander, Who Used to Be Rich Last Sunday,” by Judith Viorst, which tells the tale of a young man who has trouble managing his finances.
