Connetquot High School Girls Varsity Volleyball Team Unfurls 2017 Championship Banners
The Connetquot High School girls’ volleyball team, along with Coach Justin Hertz, district administration and their dedicated family members, recently gathered at Connetquot High School on Feb. 26 to unfurl the team’s 2017 championship banner.
After hosting a dinner in the Connetquot High School “new” gymnasium, Coach Hertz reviewed the season, unfurled the colorful championship banner and thanked the Connetquot Teacher’s Association for presenting each member of the team and staff with championship rings.
Connetquot finished the regular season undefeated (18-0) and went on to win the league, Suffolk County and Long Island championships, which earned the team another trip to the New York State Championship Tournament. Despite the fact that several senior student-athletes will be graduating and have made their college commitments, Coach Hertz believes that this year’s seniors have provided the leadership necessary to continue the program’s winning tradition.
The following seniors will be moving on to the next level and have committed to help improve the volleyball programs at the following schools: Daniella Balsano, Quinnipiac University; Mackenzie Cole, Duke University; Nicole Migliozzi, Quinnipiac University; Cassandra Patsos, Iona College and Mackenzie Taylor, Providence College.
Congratulations to the members of the Connetquot High School girls’ volleyball team, and thank you for bringing the New York State volleyball championship back to Connetquot!
