Sixth-grade students enrolled in Patricia Alway’s English Language Arts classes at Oakdale-Bohemia Middle School recently took part in Senator Phil Boyle’s “What Are You Thankful For” celebration, submitting original pieces of literature such as poems, essays and artwork based on what they were thankful for this year. 

“The submissions received are remarkable in what they represent – showing gratitude and respect for family, friends, our troops fighting overseas and many other important subjects and activities,” said Senator Boyle. “I am humbled and honored to see such inspiring contributions in response to what is a deceptively difficult question: ‘What are you thankful for?’”
