As an addition to their STEM-based education, students of all grade levels at Bosti Elementary School recently took part in the nationwide Hour of Code phenomenon in an effort to enhance their computer coding skills.

Students from Michelle Eskin’s fourth-grade class joined one another in the school’s computer lab and took part in a Minecraft-themed game which asked them to successfully move a character from point A to point B while using code-based actions to do so. The students were highly engaged as they input combinations of actions into the command log and watched their character move based on their logical decisions.

According to their website, the Hour of Code is a global movement that reaches tens of millions of students in 180 plus countries.
