Kindergarten students enrolled in Teresa Hewitt’s class at Duffield Elementary School recently met with fifth-grade students from Stephanie Russo and Elisa Prisco’s class to share their literary work with each other. Doing so allowed them to acquire new writing skills regarding style, dialogue and the strengthening of content.
During their visit, the students were involved in conversations regarding what it means to be a writer, the role of a writer and when to know when your written work is completed.
Additionally, the kindergarteners were excited as they took part in a writing workshop with a focus on story structure and dialogue, in which they learned how to incorporate speech bubbles into their stories.
