On Sunday, October 29, the Oakdale-Bohemia Middle School community service club volunteered to give out water to runners at the Suffolk County Marathon. With assistance from advisers Erica Piancentini and Amanda Staib, the students set up a hydration station at the 7-mile mark and got to cheer on the runners, many of whom were veterans. Although it was a rainy day, all in attendance wore ponchos and made the best of the situation, and ended up having a great time while helping others.
