Students from Lanie Goodman’s kindergarten class at Idle Hour Elementary School recently enhanced their science, technology, engineering and mathematics knowledge by taking part in a lesson focused on the physical properties of ice.
The students conducted an outdoor experiment, which entailed changing one factor of their supplied ice trays one variable at a time, such as the inclusion of different colored paper, while keeping all other conditions the same. They witnessed the transformative effects of solar energy, as they were introduced to the concept that matter can be solid or liquid depending on temperature and its accompanying conditions.
