The district is pleased to announce Margaret Ronai as the new district director of business and social studies.
Mrs. Ronai started her professional career in the classroom, serving as a social studies teacher for more than nine years before taking her first administrative role as a supervisor of social studies grades K-12 for two years in West Orange, New Jersey. Most recently, she has been working as a professor at the College of Saint Rose in Albany and has more than 14 years of administrative experience, having worked as both a principal and vice principal at two Long Island schools.
Throughout her administrative work, Mrs. Ronai established and supported sixth-grade teaming to enhance interdisciplinary learning and ease the transition of elementary students to middle school. She also initiated a sixth-grade advisory program that implemented a tablet program for sixth-graders to enhance career and college readiness skills.
In addition to her administrative positions, Mrs. Ronai has both garnished and contributed toward a number of prestigious awards, including, but not limited to the Lynbrook Village Youth Character Award, Lynbrook South Middle School being named a U.S. Department of Education Blue Ribbon School of Excellence Award and the New Jersey State Department of Education Best Practices Star Schools Program Award.
Mrs. Ronai has also contributed greatly toward furthering collaborative community efforts, as she fostered school-community relations by visiting elementary schools, creating a “buddy program,” and creating professional learning opportunities for staff.
Mrs. Ronai holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Stonehill College, and a Master of Science in social studies education from Long Island University, C.W. Post Campus. She is also a member of the National Association of Secondary School Principals, along with the School Administrators Association of New York State.
