In an effort to share best practices of conserving the energy utilized on a daily basis, students at Slocum and Idle Hour elementary schools were recently treated to a production of “The Energized Guyz” by PSEG Long Island and the National Theatre for Children.

Carley and J.P., professional actors with the NTC, put on a spectacular performance for the students as they transformed into colorful characters such as “Nikki Neutron” and “Bert the Dirt Expert,” each with their own important message about the best ways to conserve energy and reduce pollution. Additionally, students were taught the scientific composition of energy, its multiple uses and how to avoid the most common wastes of energy.

“The program provides an opportunity to see education brought to life,” said George Coburn, customer experience manager/community outreach for PSEG Long Island. “It’s really important that we educate and help children and their families understand the importance of our natural resources and using energy wisely.”
