Boys Volleyball Team Remains Undefeated

The varsity boys volleyball team recently earned its second consecutive win during a home game and before a supporting crowd on Sept. 5. The T-Birds won three consecutive matches against the visitors from Shoreham-Wading River by final scores of 25-16, 25-17 and 25-19.

Connetquot’s Brian Spencer had 25 assists, while Trey Cole had 13 digs and Nick Mazzaro added 12 “kills” to improve the team’s record to 2-0 in Suffolk League 1. Coach Jess Perry was very impressed with the display of athleticism and good sportsmanship from the young athletes.

Field Hockey Team Succumbs to Overtime Loss to Walt Whitman

The varsity girls field hockey team recently played an extraordinary game against league rival Walt Whitman High School, holding the visitors scoreless in regulation time and throughout the first overtime before falling by a score of 3-1 on Sept. 6.

Coach Jenn Piscitelli was proud of her team, despite the heavy rain and chilly weather.

The T-Birds’ record stands at 1-1 and Coach Piscitelli looks forward to continued growth and maturity as the season develops. Senior Victoria O’Toole scored the T-Birds’ only goal of the game, in overtime, while student-athlete Emma McKean stopped eight Walt Whitman attempts in goal.
