Connetquot High School varsity soccer coaches Nick Sturtz and Ryan Cavanagh recently hosted the sixth annual Connetquot Boys and Girls Soccer Camp at Connetquot High School. Held the week of July 31, the program was attended by more than 175 district students spanning grades 1-12, along with counselors, coaches and trainers.

The camp invited students in grades 1-6 to participate in the evening, while the upperclassmen attended the morning session.

The daily program for each group consisted of station work, individual skill improvement and team play. In addition to the soccer drills, the campers also joined the coaches in playing a variety of agility-based games designed to advance their skills and keep them motivated.

“This year’s group of talented campers has worked with great enthusiasm with the coaches, counselors and teammates,” said Cavanagh.

At the conclusion of the week, each participant received an official camp T-shirt and soccer ball for their attendance and overall performance throughout the week.
