5 Boys Track Athletes Qualify for Suffolk County Division Championships

Several T-Birds recently participated in the Suffolk County Division Championships held at Comsewogue High School on May 24.
Boys track coach Matt Frenz reported that Christian Forletta won the 110-meter high hurdles in an impressive 14.91 seconds, while Dan Suchopar finished the season clearing 6 feet in the high jump. In the pole vault, Connetquot was well-represented by brothers Michael Domozych and Thomas Domozych, as well as student-athlete Dalton Otto. Dalton, who cleared 12 feet while competing at Comsewogue, is the No. 1 freshman pole vaulter on Long Island.

Boys Lacrosse Ends Impressive Season in Suffolk County Quarterfinals

Over the course of the 2017 varsity lacrosse season, the team matured and faced each opponent with confidence and skill, as the T-Birds once again qualified for the Suffolk County Championship tournament and made their fans proud. On May 19, in the quarterfinals of the county tournament, Connetquot faced a determined Smithtown East, but fell by a score of 12-10, finishing the season with an impressive 11 wins while being on the short end of only four division games.

Coach Brett Jeffares was impressed with his team’s determination to succeed this season and thanks all of the players, as well as his staff members, family and friends who came out to support the program. He credits the seniors for their leadership over the course of the year, specifically recognizing George Wichelns, who finished the season second in division scoring and third overall in Suffolk County.
