Ladies Lacrosse Outscores Brentwood 14-7

The Connetquot High School girls lacrosse team recently defeated Brentwood High School at home by a final score of 14-7 in front of an enthusiastic crowd, improving their overall record to 4-5.

McKenzie Richardson had three goals and two assists to lead the home team, while Joie Urraro scored three goals as well. Gina Barbera and Justine Ferrara scored two goals each, while Marina Skelly, Shannon Dent, Emma McLoughlin and Erin McLoughlin chipped in with one goal each to assist with the win. Additionally, goalkeeper Sydney Danseglio had seven saves.


Boys Track and Field Outruns Lindenhurst

The Connetquot High School boys track and field team improved their overall record to 4-1 on April 26, defeating Lindenhurst High School 90-51. Highlights for this last home meet included Christian Forletta winning the 100-meter and 110-meter hurdles, and Andrew Conway winning both the shotput and discus for the T-Birds.


Boys Lacrosse Triumphs Over Sachem East

The Connetquot boys lacrosse team celebrated an exciting home victory on April 27, clinching an 11-10 win over Sachem East in overtime.

Steve Pinto scored the winning goal with an assist from Tyler Cordes with 2:05 remaining in overtime. Andrew Pinto made 15 saves for the home team, including one late in the fourth period to send the game into overtime.
Additionally, George Wichelns scored five goals for the home team, while Steve Pinto contributed two and GQ Grippo supplied another one to help secure the win.


Baseball Suffers Tough Loss to Smithtown West

The boys varsity baseball team played Smithtown West on April 27 at home and had a scoreless tie going into the sixth inning. However, Connetquot soon after gave up two hits, which gave the visitors the tie-breaking run and, ultimately, the win.  

Ciaran McGinnis’ single with one out in the sixth inning was Connetquot’s first on-base of the entire game, but he was stranded on first as Smithtown went on to win and improve their overall record to 9-4. Connetquot currently stands at 6-7 for the season, with Smithtown West hosting the T-Birds on April 28.
