Fourth-grade students in Michelle Eskin’s class at Bosti Elementary School recently worked collaboratively during a Makerspace activity based on the children’s book “The Most Magnificent Thing.”

After school librarian Anna Marie Tongue introduced the book’s main theme of creating with an open mind, the students met together in small groups to create their very own projects while utilizing such objects as Lincoln Logs, plastic gears and magnetic rods.

“The goal of the activity was to get the students thinking in a creative light, as they began to demonstrate authentic problem-solving strategies and assimilate new ideas while incorporating literacy,” said Mrs. Tongue.
