Baseball Team Breaks Lindenhurst’s Winning Streak

The Connetquot High School baseball team successfully defeated the Lindenhurst Bulldogs on April 5, breaking the Bulldogs’ winning streak and improving the T-Birds’ spring season record. 

Connetquot’s Dave Pralgo singled, Eric Leo and Kyle Kiendle walked, and Derek Yalon was hit by a pitch, forcing Pralgo to score at the bottom of the eighth inning, giving the T-Birds the 5-4 win. Jared Yalon was two for three with two RBIs, while Jon O’Connell was one for three with two RBIs.


Ladies Track Team Outruns Sachem North

The Connetquot High School ladies track and field team picked up their second win of the season on April 3 with an impressive win against League II Sachem North High School at home. 

The T-Birds demonstrated outstanding athleticism as they competed against the visiting Flaming Arrows to come out on top with an impressive score of 104-46.

Connetquot is now 2-0 overall and undefeated in league play. A major highlight for the home team was Priscilla Downey’s performance, winning the 100-meter hurdles in 17 seconds and the 400-meter hurdles in 72.3 seconds.  


Softball Team Remains Undefeated at 4-0

During their rescheduled game at home against visiting Longwood High School, Connetquot’s Lady T-Birds softball team earned an impressive 3-0 win and continued their undefeated record.

Connetquot’s Sarah McKeveny contributed toward the win, pitching a complete game with 14 strikeouts. Ashley Spencer was three for three with a run scored, and Julianna Prescia was three for four at the plate. 

The T-Birds maintain their status at the top of the League II standings.
