John Pearl Elementary School students recently had the chance to visit a landmark across the country thanks to an interactive assembly program.
The presenter of the program was Lou Del Bianco, whose grandfather, Luigi Del Bianco, helped to sculpt the faces of Mount Rushmore. He spoke to the students about the historical significance of the famous American landmark and the importance of never giving up on their dreams.
The assembly was made possible thanks to school librarian Karen Deaner, who encouraged students to participate in this month’s Pick a Reading Partner program, which carries the theme of “Let’s Go Camping.”
