Fifth-graders at John Pearl Elementary School showcased their newly acquired circus skills and talents during the building’s annual Cirque du Jour event this winter.

For two weeks, the students worked alongside trained professionals in their physical education classes to learn the skills necessary to perform comedic clowns acts, complex juggling routines, balanced stilt walking performances and rhythmic diabolo stick acts.

The Cirque du Jour circus program is designed to motivate students to participate in physical education and cultural arts activities.
