Reviewing Key Safety Tips
Officer Wendy Verlotte of the Suffolk County Police Department recently paid a visit to Joanna Zalewski’s fifth-grade class at Bosti Elementary as part of the Suffolk County Police Department’s Internet Safety Program. This initiative is aimed at providing age-appropriate information to students on topics such as stranger danger, bullying, internet safety and sound decision making.

During the event, Officer Verlotte spoke with the students about how to avoid becoming a victim of bullying, and encouraged them to make informed decisions when it comes to treating fellow students fairly. Additionally, she discussed cyber-bullying, and the danger of providing too much information while using the internet.
