Tough Season Opener for Boys Varsity Swim and Dive Team

Connetquot High School’s swim and dive team lost their first meet of the season against a combined team from Harborfields and Huntington high schools. Although they suffered a narrow 94-90 loss, coaches Alex Scichilone and Jeff Shiebler believe the T-Birds showed determination and will bounce back for their Dec. 9 meet against the combined Sayville/Bayport-Blue Point team. The team looks forward to another exciting and successful championship season.


Winning Opener for Boys Varsity Basketball Team

The Connetquot boys varsity basketball team opened the season on Dec. 2 by defeating local rival Sachem East by a score of 68-62 before a loud and supportive home crowd. Sachem took an early lead, but Connetquot led by four points at halftime and finished the game on top for their first win of the season. The T-Birds were led by junior guard Seth Goumba with 21 points, followed by senior guard Jeremiah Bozzo with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Standing tall at 6-foot-4, junior forward Taylor Stepanek scored 14 points and had 16 rebounds.
