Cherokee Elementary School students recently took part in a “Drug-Free Pizza Box Decorating” contest, which asked students to create a pizza box portraying slogans, topics and ideas that pertain to living a healthy and drug-free lifestyle.

“Throughout the week, Cherokee students learned about ‘building a better me’ by saying no to drugs, eating healthy, exercising and taking care of their bodies,” said Cherokee Elementary Youth and Family Services Coordinator, Nicole Coogan.

Winners were chosen by the Cherokee staff representing the districtwide Dignity for All Students Act team and the owners of the recently opened DaVinci’s Pizza in Holbrook, Mr. and Mrs. Pezzino. The Pezzinos will also be hosting a pizza party for the winners and will temporarily print the students’ artwork on their pizza boxes.
