Dear Connetquot Families,
As
our school community works to navigate the mandated school closure, we
are currently utilizing a combination of scheduled vacation
and snow closure dates towards the 180 day school year requirement. As
you know, that means if we reopen on April 1st, as currently scheduled
by the Governor, school will be in session during the Spring vacation,
April 6 - 10, 2020 as well as May 21, 22 and
26, 2020, however, this may change if the New York State Education
Department, and/or the Governor change the 180 day minimum requirement.
We will work to keep you informed of the changes in regulation and
other guidance from NYSED as the situation evolves.
While
we work with our teachers to determine what remote instruction would
look like following this break, if the schools were to
be ordered to remain closed past April 1st, the district is reaching
out to you to share a number of instructional resources to help children
during this time of transition. While not obligated to use these
resources, the comprehensive list include a multitude
of options that are adaptable for individuals of all ages and
abilities. Compiled by members of our staff, the attached list includes
outlets that will provide students with engaged and authentic learning
opportunities. Please see the attached document created
by our Special Education Department by clicking COVID
Activities Resources (3).pdf
Please
note, some of these resources require account log in information and/or
the acceptance of terms and conditions. The district

their assigned credentials, please reach out to Interim Assistant
