BOYS SWIMMING: Boys swimming placed second in the county, had six state qualifiers and the 200-meter medley relay broke a 40-year-old school record.

WRESTLING: The CHS wrestling team won the League 2 championship, with eight wrestlers making it to the final. Five were champions and 12 qualified for the county tournament. Coach Bill Santoro was honored for five decades of excellence in coaching.

TRACK AND FIELD: Michael Domozych and Micah Cooper each pole vaulted 13 feet to qualify to jump at the Long Island Elite Meet, while Emily Pfeuffer vaulted an amazing 10 feet, 6 inches to move on to the championships. Jeremy Bertolet won the Section XI championship in the triple jump by leaping 45 feet, 7.75 inches, which ranks him as No. 6 in all of New York State. His fantastic finish at the Section XI championships also qualified him for the nationals later in the season. Erin McLoughlin placed third in the long jump with a leap of 17 feet, 9 inches and will also compete at the New York State championships, which will be held at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on March 7. Connetquot track and field student-athletes were recognized as being among the best in all of Suffolk County.

Eighth grader Marissa McDougall has already qualified to run the mile at the national championships on March 15; Maddie Barget (1,000 meters); Nia Callaway (high jump); Olivia Amberger (triple jump); Emily Medina (55-meter hurdles); Isabella Cottone, Audrey Joseph, Erin McLoughlin and Melanie Walsh (4x800-meter relay); Chris Andrade, Aidan Harrington, Dominick Katrivanos and James Mastro (4x400-meter relay). Connetquot’s boys 4x400-meter relay team finished third in Suffolk County and set a new school record time of 3:28.21.

All-County Academic selections: Dominick Katrivanos (4x400), Jeremy Bartelet (triple jump), Katie Iocca (3,000-meter) and Emily Pfeuffer (pole vault); and the All-County track and field selections: Nia Callaway (high jump), Erin McLoughlin (long jump) and Emily Pfeuffer (pole vault).
Girls track and field coaches, student-athletes and parents met at the high school cafeteria on Feb. 12 for a potluck to celebrate another successful season and thank the graduating student-athletes for their leadership and dedication to the program. Congratulations to the following seniors: Maddie Amberger, Jenna Anderson, Nia Callaway, Megan Dalton, Alaina Drennan, Janelle Foston, Yeni Gonzalez, Katie Iocca, Audrey Joseph, Karly McGee, Reilly Murphy, Kim Petersen, Emily Pfeuffer, Christina Pulitano and Nicole Weaver.
