Covid-19 Information for Employees
As you aware, there has been an increase of Covid-19 cases in and around our District. Our Pupil Personnel/Health and Safety Department has informed me that they will inform us immediately if there is any direct exposure to our staff. It is more important than ever to maintain safety protocols in effort to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
**ITEMS 3, 4, & 5 ARE MANDATORY AND MUST BE FOLLOWED EVERY DAY**
- It is important to limit your exposure to students on your bus. If you are arriving at the school too early, please adjust your time to minimize the amount of time that children are waiting on your bus after you arrive at the school.
- All drivers must keep an accurate seating chart for each school to assist in contact tracing if needed.
- Masks must be worn at all times when on the bus and when on school grounds. All students must wear a mask when riding the bus. Please be sure you have a supply of masks available for students who may need one. If you need a supply of PPE, please see Debbi Schmidt.
- Windows or roof hatches must be opened slightly to provide air flow throughout the bus.
- All touched surfaces must be sprayed and wiped down after each school run.
- At the end of your run after each POST-TRIP (AM & PM), you must wipe all touched surfaces and mist the entire bus with the “Alpha HP” spray disinfectant before leaving your bus. Items 3, 4 and 5 are MANDATORY steps to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Video observations are being done to ensure that drivers are adhering to these protocols.
Contact Tracing & Investigation
If you test positive for Covid-19 - DO NOT COME TO WORK. Contact the office as soon as possible. You will receive a call back with a series of questions that are required to be answered an added to the Suffolk County Dept. of Health Services Portal. They will issue us a registration number for your case. This information will be relayed to the District’s Pupil Personnel/Health and Safety Department. They will determine if any close contacts are to be notified by reviewing the information you have provided. They will also issue a return to work date after your quarantine period is completed as long as you are Asymptomatic (No Symptoms). You are to go to the website below to obtain a release letter before returning to work.

Any bus involved in the investigation will be disinfected and taken out of service for twenty-four hours
